The Krogh family has always done their party on Christmas Eve. This year by some weird twist of fate it was at my house which was pretty awesome (especially since my mom did ALL the cooking for this household).

Girlfriends and Giggles

She particularly enjoyed the "Hannah Montana Rock Party" her friend had at Girlfriends and Giggles... they also do princess parties, which I have been promising her she could have since she was 2. This is probably where her birthday party will be next spring since she's not stopped talking about it since!

Caedee was reading to me on the trip to daycare. She wasn't just regurgitating some book I'd read to her 100 times.... she was reading. She picked up a random piece of paper (my car is usually filled with random pieces of paper from her school) and was looking at it. The she said "Caedee Walker, MOM! This paper has my name on it!" while pointing at her name towards the end of the list. "Yes, that's a list of all the kids in your class and their phone numbers. Do you see any other names you recognize?". "Kiara! Hunter!" She was pointing around the paper and reading the names, correctly! We got to another K name, "what's this one mom?" "Katie" "But it starts with a K..."

Man, Disney know's how to host a vacation and they do it on an epic scale. We stayed on the resort and got the meal plan. This meant that I only really had to carry around my room key which also served to deduct meal points. It was more than enough food and got Caedee all kinds of cool snacks, including about 10 character Pez dispensers. It was all handled and very stress free.

Day 1 we arrived and headed straight to Magic Kingdom... we saw Mickey and Minnie's houses in Toon Town and watched the light Parade. I got a good spot and thought I might pass out trying to hold Caedee up on my shoulders, that parade is pretty darn long!

Day 2 we went to Animal Kingdom. I would have liked to do more there but Caedee got tired pretty quick... (Should have come up with the rent a stroller idea sooner) We wandered into the Lion King show there and it was pretty awesome. Caedee said it was better than the light parade... I don't know about that, but it was a pretty good show. We walked out to find Safari Donald, Mickey, Minnie and Goofy. We explored a little more. Then we went back to the hotel to swim and then headed to Epcot. I really wanted to see Epcot, but Caedee could only think about meeting Tinkerbell... so we went back to Magic Kingdom and met Tinkerbell after a loooong wait. She was with Silvermist and Fawn. Caedee was scared to actually meet them, she just wanted to stand back and look. But when we got in there Silvermist walked right over to Caedee and chatted her up... Caedee was so excited then and actually posed for pictures with the fairies.

Day 3 we hit Epcot again. This is where we rode our first rides, the Sea (Nemo ride), the Land, and Spaceship Earth. After a couple hours Caedee was ready to leave again, but I wanted to see Epcot. I rented a stroller and handed Caedee the camera with instructions to take pictures of anything cool. We have about 100 kid eye level pictures of Epcot's different countries and it let me check things out and she still had fun. I think we saw the most characters at Epcot. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Chip and Dale, Beauty and the Beast, Alice (from Wonderland). ALL the characters have a small waiting line to get Autograph's and pictures. We never waited in line for anyone other than Mickey, the fairies and the princesses. After we'd had enough Epcot (it was HOT and we were TIRED) we headed back to the hotel for a swim. By the time it was done swimming a big storm blew up... that was fine with us we needed an evening with our feet up!

Day 4 we headed back to the Magic Kingdom because Caedee couldn't think of anything other than meeting Cinderella. I took the long way and coaxed her into riding Pirates of the Carribean, Magic Carpets, The Haunted Mansion (too scary she didn't like it), It's a small world (she loved it!) Finally we went and met the Princesses and Tinkerbell (along with Rosetta and Irredessa this time). After that we ate and shopped a little. Before I could finish getting the last of our souvineers, it started pouring rain. Caedee freaked out at first as we attempted to get into ponchos... After she saw some other kids puddle stomping I told her she could stop the puddles too and she had a ball in the rain. Its a good thing because it rained so much it flooded some of the resort roads and we had to wait about 30 minutes for a bus back to the hotel... This was by far the longest we ever waited for a bus... usually it was only 5 or 10 minutes and they were not full and crowded.

We went to Neosho Friday night and stayed all weekend.

Caedee fell in love with fishing over Memoral Day at the lake. She now owns a Dora fishing rod and a Barbie tackel box crammed full of cool (mostly pink) baits! She's also got a fishing license... why does the state require a fishing license for a 4 yr old???

Today I got a call from school. "I think Caedee's stuck a craft ball up her nose" the teacher tells me, "she seems ok though". "She isn't crying?" I ask. "No, I'll let you talk to her... Caedee!".

Caedee comes on... "Caedee, did you stick something up your nose?" I say, trying not to laugh. My coworkers can hear everything and they are all asking "WHAT?!!" and laughing. I tell her to keep trying to blow her nose and get it out. She hangs up on me.

I called her Drs office to find out if they could handle this sort of thing... because apparently it was WAY up there and the teacher could no longer see it. Yes, they do handle that sort of thing. Quite often apparently. And I can bring her right in.

So I go pick her up... When I see her, she looks normal, not upset, not crying, not in pain. I ask, "are you sure there is something up your nose?" I know there definately is when she answers because she sounds like she's got a cold... then her right eye begins to water. I ask to look, but definitely nothing to see. So, we head to the Dr.

They shined a flash light up there and there it is, a little blue fuzz ball. The Dr came in and it took about 30 seconds to pull it out. I asked them to let me take a picture... just for this purpose. There was no way to take a picture of it actually in her nose. It was too dark of a shade of blue.

"Why did you stick the blue fuzzy ball up your nose?"

"Because I wanted too."

We were at dinner for grandma Clara's 98th birthday in a place called the PeachTree. It was a nicer restaurant that served stuff like fried chicken and mashed potatoes. On the weekends they have "live jazz" at 6 pm. Which is about the time our dinner started. Around 730 when we left, their break was ending and they were about to start up again. Unprompted, Caedee ran over to the lady that was singing and grabbed her hand and told her "I really liked your singing!" The lady was a little surpised but told Caedee "well, thank you!" about the time Caedee let go of her hand and made a break for the door.

You know, she's never once told me she likes MY singing...

Saturday was a pretty sunny day, despite the cold. We drove over to gramma and papa Krogh's and convinced them to take us somewhere. A quick search of stuff to do in Fayetteville, AR turned up this litte place called Terra Studios. We drove until we though we might have passed it and then there it was, quite in the middle of nowhere.

There was a little cafe. The boothes were themed. Caedee picked the one with the dragon village and quartz crystals in the table.

Yesterday we drove down to Joplin for Uncle D's birthday party. Before we went to that party, Caedee had a tea party for us. This is a pretty fancy little china tea set. Caedee really loves it - especially when there is real "stuff" to drink and pour and when there are real live guests to enjoy her party. I'm not sure which one is supposed to be the mad hatter...

This Halloween Caedee and Spencer are dressing up as characters from Super Why! Gramma Annie made the costumes. This was right before my birthday dinner (10/9) trying the costumes on to make sure they fit! Spencer is Super Why! and Caedee is Princess P or Princess Presto (I'm not sure which... I think P has a purple dress and Presto is pink so...) Caedee was very excited. She has a supergirl cape and a new dress that dances!!!

My first question when I saw her was "does it dance?" Looks like that was her first thought too :D. She really won't wear a dress if it doesn't "dance"

I think she's telling Papa Ray she needs a magic wand!

My parents called early this morning about finishing the trim work. I was so sore from squating repeatedly laying all the panels. I don't remember my legs EVER beeing this sore. So today we put the trim boards back up... a tincy bit lower to cover the gaps. Then we cut, sanded and stained trim boards (ya power tools!)

I had a garage sale this weekend. Here is caedee's shoe collection for the past year or so... evidence of a girly girl.

The main purpose of the garage sale was to get rid of a bunch of caedee's stuff. Here's her crib complete with the bedding set. Her entire baby bedroom! I got a decent price out of it and a sweet preggo down the street got a very nice barely used set up. Caedee has NEVER really slept in her bed so it was all like new! I think the technical term for it is "Co-sleeping". We Co-sleep... yeah... (it has nothing to do with the fact that I'm just to wimpy and she's got me wrapped around her little finger) Anyway, I also still had her bouncer, baby bath, diaper pail, changing table, etc. What I didn't sell we donated to the disabled vetrans.

Here is what the garage sale procedes purchased... a new matress for my old daybed... and Caedee's new "big-girl" bed. Her crib converted to a toddler bed that LOOKED like a day bed, but the girl was too tall already! (She's wearing 5t clothes this fall to get pants that are long enough!)

We took a couple shorter test rides yesterday that ended quickly with whining about having to pee and wanting food. I was depressed that I spent so much on a fancy bike trailer and would only be able to use it if I also bought a fancy bike rack to tow the entire package to another town to ride on paths or with Maggie and Spencer. However, tonite I convinced Caedee to take another ride. When on the first hill she started whining that she wanted to go home I told her she might see some fireworks... When we finally leveled out I got up to a good speed and she started having fun. Then we went up another hill and she started chanting "go mommy go" over and over. It was pretty motivating so shortly after we got leveled out again we were going fast. When we got home she said "Mom that was a GOOD RIDE!"

We've been pretty busy lately. Last weekend we went to Silver Dollar City. This weekend we're going to a birthday party. The weekend before that was Easter. We've been going to swimming lessons. Caedee is doing really well and is always SO EXCITED to go to swimming lessons. They make for a long day, but it will be worth it when she knows how to swim!

Separation Anxiety

Lately, particularly this week, Caedee has been having a rough time being dropped off at school. I think it maybe due to many things, one of them being that I told her I was leaving on a business trip soon and no she couldn't go with me but I would bring her presents!

Monday morning she practically had a nervous breakdown when I left her screaming for mommy and saying she wanted to go home. I called the school later and she had calmed down, but it worried me terribly all day. She had less serious variations on the same fit every day this week. I was wondering what to do and got some advice. Give her a laminated photo so she can have a picture that won't get messed up, give her a personal item that would remind her of you, get her a calendar so whoever is babysitting can mark off the days until mommy's return.

I was wondering what personal item to give her last night trying to think what would remind her of me. Finally I remembered I had a bit of an old broken necklace that I'd had since I was 17 or so - an amethyst crystal. I had no idea why I had kept it around for so long not wanting to throw it away (the necklace was a gift from her dad). So this morning I gave her the piece of amethyst and told her it was a piece of mommy and it was hers to keep. I also told her that tomorrow we would go to the build-a-bear place and she could pick out her own little tiny bear and put that piece of mommy inside, then she could carry me with her where ever and she would have that piece of mommy with her.

I let her take the piece to school with her today. And she did throw a tiny fit, but it was much less severe than the ones earlier this week. After I took her things to her cubbie and looked back in at her in the lunch room, she was sitting still eating next to her friends. I think it helped!
